PharmServ has a PRN opportunity with an independent critical access hospital in North Central, Iowa. 53 miles north of Waterloo, IA. This is a true community hospital. Small bed count, familiar faces, and a pharmacy that supports everything from inpatient care to outpatient services and emergency coverage. Pharmacists here aren’t buried in layers of bureaucracy. You’re part of the care team, and your work is visible and appreciated.

The workflow reflects the setting: focused, practical, and steady. You’ll work with nurses and providers who know their patients and rely on the pharmacy for safe, reliable medication support. It’s an environment where good judgment, accuracy, and communication are highly valued. Training is also available up to 3-4 days of your choosing.

Compensation for this Position:

• Your current competitive hourly rate with PharmServ
• Mileage reimbursement
• Drivetime
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed

Facility Duties and Expectations:

• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriate dosing along with preparing infusions
• Dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient needs
• Support medication management across hospital departments
• Communicate with nursing staff and providers regarding orders and clarifications
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies
• Assist with routine pharmacy workflow and coverage needs
• Uphold state and federal pharmacy regulations

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 7a – 3:30p
• Pharmacists choose the shifts they work.
• Ongoing coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution
• Valid, Active pharmacist license in Iowa, in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy
• BCLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Immunization Admin. Certification
