Retail/Community Pharmacist 

PRN – Southeast, IA region

PharmServ has a PRN opportunity with a retail community pharmacy 50 miles southeast of Oskaloosa, IA. This pharmacy is located within a full-service grocery store and serves a close-knit community. Coverage needs are ongoing through December, allowing you to choose your shifts based on your availability.  

As a PRN pharmacist here, you’ll work in a high-volume environment with hands-on support staff who can orient you to the workflow and operations. Additional training is available if needed.

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed. 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions, ensuring patient safety and precision 
• Engage with customers to answer questions, provide counseling, and explain medications 
• Collaborate with technicians and store personnel to keep the workflow smooth 
• Assist with vaccine and immunization services within your scope of licensure 
• Maintain proper recordkeeping, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards 
• Support the store’s pharmacy environment 

Schedule:  

• Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri: 8a – 6p 
• Sat: 9a – 2p 
• Tue, Sun: Off 
• Pharmacists work the shifts they choose to accept. 
    

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 
• Immunization Administration 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience in Community Retail pharmacy setting
