Retail Community Pharmacist

PharmServ is offering a PRN opportunity for a Retail Community Pharmacy, located in Southeast, Iowa. This small-town pharmacy emphasizes great customer service. The staff is well-trained, allowing you to jump in and focus on your pharmacist responsibilities and provide care. 
 
Although the town is small, the pharmacy stays busy. Many of the local residents depend on it to receive their medications. This assignment is great for a pharmacist who enjoys staying busy and providing care to a tight-knit community.

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed. 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently, keeping patient safety at the center of the work 
• Interact with patients to answer questions, provide counseling, and explain medications in a clear, approachable way 
• Work alongside technicians to keep the day moving and the workflow on track 
• Support immunization services during flu season if certified 
• Assist as needed with filling, locating, and organizing medications 
• Maintain appropriate documentation and operate in compliance with pharmacy and regulatory standards 
• Help keep the pharmacy organized, professional, and ready to serve patients throughout the day 

Schedule:  

• Ongoing coverage as needed with multiple shifts open for March and April. 
• Pharmacists work the shifts they choose to accept. 

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Immunization Administration
