PharmServ now has a Direct Hire opportunity for an independent community pharmacy in the northeastern Iowa region. 

As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will be joining a pharmacy that has been a trusted cornerstone of care in Northwest Iowa since 2013.  This is a friendly, patient-focused team that treats patients like family. You’ll work alongside a skilled technician and the owner in a setting that values compassion, professionalism, and personalized care. Your role will be key in continuing the pharmacy’s tradition of wellness-focused and outstanding service.

 


Facility Duties and Expectations: 

  • Verify and dispense 70–100 prescriptions daily 
  • Administer vaccines within scope of licensure 
  • Support low volume LTC and assisted living medication orders 
  • Assist technician with filling, locating, and stocking medications 
  • Provide thorough patient counseling and customer service 
  • Answer questions from patients, physicians, and technicians 
  • Maintain pharmacy operations and documentation standards 
  • Be punctual, professional, and proactive in all communications 
  • Administer vaccinations 

 


Schedule: 

  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM 
  • 5/4 alternating schedule every two weeks, where employees work 5 days one week and 4 days the next. 
  • Closed weekends and major holidays 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
  • Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
  • Compliant with all client-required credentialing 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with PioneerRx software 
  • Experience in retail or LTC pharmacy settings 

 

 

Compensation for this Position: 

  • Competitive salary - Negotiable 
  • PTO based on hours worked (approx. 3–4 days per quarter) 
  • Vacation: 2–3 weeks - Negotiable 
  • Monthly health stipend
