Retail/Community Pharmacist  

PRN – West Central, IA region

PharmServ has a PRN opportunity with a independent community pharmacy 30 miles west of Cedar Rapids, IA. This pharmacy takes pride in building strong patient rapport with patients.  The team supports both retail and limited long-term care services, offering a true small-town atmosphere where every patient interaction matters. Pharmacists in this role can expect a steady pace, typically around 80 prescriptions daily.

Compensation for this Position:   

• Your current hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed. 

Facility Duties and Expectations:   

• Ensure prescriptions are reviewed, prepared, and dispensed accurately. 
• Take time to connect with patients, offering guidance, answering questions, and helping them feel confident about their medications. 
• Team up with technicians to keep daily operations running smoothly. 
• Oversee long-term care packaging and order verification to maintain accuracy and compliance. 
• Assist with immunization services within your licensure scope. 
• Ensure all recordkeeping and documentation meet regulatory and company standards. 
• Contribute to a hands-on, service-oriented environment. 

Schedule:   

• October: 1 weekday per week, Mon–Fri:  8:30a–5:30p 
• November 26 | 8:30a–5:30p 
• December 22–23 | 8:30a–5:30p 
• Pharmacists select which shifts they’d like to accept 
     

Required Qualifications:   

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 

Preferred Qualifications:   

• Experience with Computer Rx software 
• Immunization Administration is preferred but not required
