Community Retail Pharmacist 

PRN – East Central, IA region

PharmServ has a PRN opportunity to provide support for a community retail pharmacy 95 miles East of Des Moines, IA , with multiple shifts open in in March. You choose the shifts your availability allows. The pharmacy supports the health needs of local residents and nearby rural communities. Here, taking the time to build a relationship with patients is a priority.  
 
As a PRN pharmacist, your role will be to keep the service consistent with what patients expect. You’ll step right into the day-to-day work, helping the team move their mission of “helping every patient achieve the best possible therapeutic outcomes from their medications” forward. Your presence helps the pharmacy continue serving its community without gaps in service.

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current competitive hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and help keep the workflow running day to day 
• Help patients understand their medications and answer questions clearly 
• Support services like multi-dose packaging, delivery coordination, and adherence support 
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment 
• Assist technicians with filling, locating, and preparing prescriptions when workflow requires 
• Handle day-to-day operational issues that come up in a community setting 
• Communicate with PharmServ and the pharmacy team to support coverage and patient care 

Schedule: 

• March – 8:30a – 5:30p 
• multiple dates available 
• Pharmacist choose the shifts they work. 
• Ongoing coverage as needed. 

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, Active pharmacist license in Iowa, in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 
• Immunization Admin. Certification
