Retail Community Pharmacist

PharmServ has a PRN opportunity with a retail community pharmacy 65 miles East of Iowa City, IA. This locally operated pharmacy provides a small-town feel and  serves its patients from the local area with personalized care. 

Pharmacists in this role handle daily dispensing and verification, support the staff, and help keep the pharmacy running efficiently. The pace is steady, and doing well here comes down to being organized, adaptable, and easy to work with. 

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed. 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, and clinical appropriateness 
• Provide patient counseling on dosing, side effects, interactions, and storage 
• Support pharmacy technicians and oversee workflow when needed 
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations 
• Maintain accurate records and inventory, including controlled substances 
• Assist with third-party billing and insurance verification 
• Contribute to a clean, organized, and professional work environment 
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold company policies 

Schedule:  

• Ongoing coverage as needed. 
• Monday – Friday: 9a - 5p 
• 15 - 20hr per week 
• Pharmacists work the shifts they choose to accept. 
    

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification   

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Immunization Administration Certification
