Community Retail Pharmacist

PharmServ is partnering with a closed-door retail pharmacy 28 miles south of Iowa City, to provide PRN coverage. This is a high-volume, closed-door pharmacy that handles medication packaging and fulfillment. They support facilities and patients who rely on medications being filled, packaged, and delivered correctly, every single day, without delay. 

This is a fast-paced environment. You’re not dealing with walk-in retail traffic, but you are working through high-volume days where accuracy and consistency are critical. The team is structured, the systems are in place, and your role is to step in, and keep things moving.

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current competitive hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Verify prescriptions and adherence packaging accurately in a high-volume setting 
• Assist with pharmacy operations with the pharmacy team to ensure on-time delivery to patients and facilities 
• Work closely with staff to stay ahead of volume and avoid bottlenecks 
• Communicate clearly with staff on workflow, issues, and priorities throughout the shift 
• Support adherence packaging and ensure everything meets compliance standards 
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all pharmacy regulations 

Schedule: 

• May 1st – May 29th 
• Mon – Fri: 9a – 6p 
• Sat & Sun: Closed 
• 2 – 3 shifts a week 
• Pharmacist choose the shifts they work. 
• Ongoing coverage as needed. 

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, Active pharmacist license in Iowa, in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Immunization Admin. Certification
