Retail Community Pharmacist

PharmServ has a  full-time Direct - Hire opportunity with a retail community pharmacy 10 miles east of West Des Moines, IA. For over forty years, this organization has provided medical, dental, and behavioral health services to Iowans. The pharmacy is an important part of that mission, supporting patients through education, medication access, and personalized care. Pharmacists here work closely with nurses, physicians, and case managers to make sure every patient receives the right treatment and understands how to manage it confidently. 

Compensation for this Position:  

• Wage: Up to $140k/yr

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Review prescriptions for safety, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness 
• Verify, prepare, and dispense medications following all state and federal guidelines 
• Counsel patients on new prescriptions, medication management, and side effects 
• Work with care teams to support patients in chronic care and HIV treatment programs 
• Assist patients with compliance and financial assistance programs 
• Guide and support pharmacy technicians and oversee daily operations 
• Participate in medication audits, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts 
• Provide diabetic education and basic device training when needed 
• Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of organization and patient confidentiality 

Pharmacy Hours of Operation:  

• Mon & Wed: 8a – 8p 
• Tue, Thu, Fri: 8a – 5p 
• Sat & Sun: Closed 
    

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, active pharmacist license in Iowa in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BLS Certification 
• Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Certification 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Community Health Center experience 
• Bilingual, verbal and written 
• Experience with 340B Pharmacy Services
