Community Retail Pharmacist

The systems are already in place, so you can focus on the work instead of fixing problems. In addition to core retail duties, the pharmacy offers services like immunizations and adherence packaging, adding some variety to the day. Overall, it’s a comfortable, well-supported assignment for pharmacists who appreciate consistency and a thoughtful pace.

Compensation for this Position:  

• Your current competitive hourly rate with PharmServ 
• Mileage reimbursement 
• Drivetime 
• Lodging and Per Diem if needed 

Facility Duties and Expectations:  

• Verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently in a single-pharmacist retail setting 
• Provide thorough patient counseling and answer questions from patients, providers, and staff 
• Administer immunizations if certified 
• Work within established technician-led workflows, including basket prioritization systems 
• Support technicians when needed with filling, locating, and organizing medications 
• Oversee compliant handling of controlled substances and regulated products 
• Ensure the pharmacy is secured properly at opening and close 
• Communicate proactively with PharmServ and pharmacy leadership regarding scheduling or issues 

Schedule: 

• Every Friday in March – 9a – 6p with ongoing coverage as needed. 
• Pharmacist choose the shifts they work. 

Required Qualifications:  

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution 
• Valid, Active pharmacist license in Iowa, in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy 
• BCLS certification 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Immunization Admin. Certification
